Artist Statement: Lawrence English is media artist, composer and curator based in Brisbane, Australia. Working across a broad range of aesthetic investigations, English’s work is eclectic and characterises a long-term exploration into various themes including audio/visual environments, found sound/vision, subtle transformation of public space and sonic art works that exist at the very edge of perception.

MP3/Video Sample Title: Wind For The Trees
This work from 2008 is one of a number of extended field recording techniques being explored by Lawrence English. This particular piece uses a Hydrophone to record the agitation of trees located on the coast of Stradbroke Island. The Hydrophone allowing for extremely low frequency vibrations to be collected in the recording.
